The 5-year cascading fermentation process is time-consuming and costly. It’s no surprise that this method wasn’t chosen randomly for OM-X®. As mentioned, one reason for the fermentation process is to obtain postbiotics. However, another significant reason is the 5-year “training” of 12 bacterial strains (specifically chosen for their functions in the intestinal tract), to enhance their ability to coexist with other bacteria, increase their viability, and improve their survival and functionality in the digestive tract environment.

Unique Fermented Form of Prebiotics

Prebiotics can be problematic for some people. While beneficial as a food source for probiotic bacteria, their indigestibility can irritate the intestinal tract.

This is not the case with OM-X®. Plant ingredients (including seaweeds like hijiki, wakame, kombu, and medicinal mushrooms like maitake, shiitake, and agaricus) are initially ground into a fine paste that ferments for 5 years in barrels. This fermented prebiotic paste is non-irritating, even for very sensitive digestive tracts.

Patented Capsule

At first glance and touch, it’s evident that the capsule is significantly different from standard ones. It is a patented three-layer capsule developed by the Japanese company FUJI Capsules to remain intact in the stomach and dissolve only in the large intestine.

It might seem that this should be a standard for probiotics, but in reality, it often isn’t. Common probiotics are frequently enclosed in ordinary cellulose capsules that dissolve in the stomach, where most probiotics are immediately killed by stomach acids. Alternatively, you might encounter capsules that protect their contents from the stomach environment but are not resistant to bile salts encountered at the start of the small intestine. OM-X® capsules account for both and are designed to handle these conditions, which is not common despite being crucial. No Need for Refrigeration

The bacterial strains contained are temperature-resistant, having been cultivated under varying temperatures throughout the seasons. Ideal storage is up to 25°C, but the product remains effective even in less ideal conditions (around 30°C).

This is a significant advantage for regular use and for OM-X® as travel-friendly probiotics. It also eliminates the issue of maintaining a consistent temperature for probiotics during home storage, at the supplier and retailer, and during transport after purchase, where temperature-sensitive bacteria could be at risk at any point in the delivery chain.
